NVIDIA has unveiled the new GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card at the Consumer Electronic Show 2019.
The GeForce RTX 2060 is based on NVIDIA’s latest Turing architecture, and like the older GTX 1060 is targeted at a more mainstream pool of gamers – those wanting ray-tracing features but have no need for the raw power of the 2080/2080 Ti to output at 4K resolutions.
So like its faster siblings, the GeForce RTX 2060 will feature RT cores, which are dedicated to real-time ray-tracing; and Tensor cores, cores dedicated to neural networking processing and AI. According to NVIDIA, the GeForce RTX 2060 will deliver up to 52 TFLOPS Tensor performance and up to 5 Gigarays per second. It will also come with up to 6GB GDDR6 VRAM.
There’s no word yet on the GeForce RTX 2060’s core configuration, but according to NVIDIA it will deliver better performance than a GeForce GTX 1070 Ti.
The GeForce RTX 2060 will go on sale on 15 January 2019 and will be priced at US$349. No word yet on local availability and pricing, but we will be sure to share the card’s performance once we get our hands on one.
